Where do I begin? Oh how about when I went to bed with hair to my shoulders and woke up with the middle of my head almost showing. I had NO idea what was going on! As a black woman the FIRST thing I thought was "THAT'S what I get for not having a silk pillow case" Man oh Man that was NOT the case.
So I ask a friend of mine to just cut my hair real short to match that short ass strip down the middle of my head.....she was of no help. So I just dealt with it and eventually my hair grew back. This was in 2009.
Fast forward about 4 years to 2013. I am still battling this issue. My hair still grows but I now have this very painful spot on the top of my head. It's bumpy and it's itchy and I hated it. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what it was. You al ready know if you Google ANYTHING about your body some how they link it to the worst thing.
So as a black woman I did what I had always done when my hair was dry and itchy.....I oiled my scalp. It NEVER worked and I didn't know why. So literally after about an hour I started BURNING!!! So I ran to the shower and washed my hair.....oh MAN did that feel good. Burning GONE!!
So for a couple years this is just what I did. It's 2015 and my hair has STOPPED growing. My hair stylist says she can see my scalp. I am freaking out! She suggests I go to a dermatologist. So I head on over thinking YAY!! Finally some help.
They sent me home with ketoconazole in shampoo form AND a foam called Extina. I tried the shampoo.....HELL NO! Never again. My head was like the Sahara desert. So I stopped using that and used the foam religiously.
Went back to my hair dresser....no change had been made length wise to my hair...I was devastated.
